In the USA, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt began publishing Tolkien in 1938, with The Hobbit, and have followed the author ever since. A short timeline of this publishing history is featured on their Tolkien pages.
In France, Christian Bourgois éditeur has been publishing Tolkien since 1972 and the first publication of The Lord of the Rings in French. Here is their Tolkien catalogue. The translations we have used for published texts in French are all courtesy of Christian Bourgois éditeur.
In Spain (Castillan), Ediciones Minotauro are the historical publishers of Tolkien (since 1977), and their Tolkien and Tolkien-related catalogue is very close to complete. The translations we have used for published texts in Spanish are all courtesy of Ediciones Minotauro.
La Mercurie, specialized in illustrated childrens' books, published the French translation of Mr Bliss in 2009.
The Elvish Linguistic Fellowship (E.L.F.) is an American organization devoted to the scholarly study of the invented languages of J.R.R. Tolkien, under the guidance of Christopher Tolkien and with the authorisation of the Tolkien Estate. ELF publishes Vinyar Tengwar and Parma Eldalamberon (21 issues, so far).
In France, Tolkiendil, a non-profit organization, promotes J.R.R. Tolkien's work and publishes a journal, L'Arc & le heaume.
